First date green flags that actually matter
Not everything green is a green flag. These are the small first-date signals that quietly predict a good time.
Everyone talks about red flags and icks. Almost nobody talks about the good stuff. Here's what actually matters on a first date.
The real green flags
- They're kind to staff. The single biggest predictor of how they'll treat you at month six.
- They ask a follow-up question. Not "so what do you do" and then a monologue.
- They pick up their phone once, at most. And they apologise for it.
- They laugh at your bad joke. Not politely. Actually.
- They have plans that aren't you. Friends, hobbies, a life.
Ones that seem green but aren't
- "I don't do drama." Everyone who says this is drama.
- "I'm not like other girls / guys." They are.
- Instantly love-bombing. Feels great. Rarely lasts.
