Terms of Service — Ickmeter

Welcome to Ickmeter ("we", "us", "ickmeter.com"). These Terms govern your use of the ickmeter.com website, the "Rate my date" quiz, the leaderboard, story submissions, and our related social channels (@ickmeter on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube). By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

1. You must be 18+

Ickmeter is strictly for adults. You confirm you are at least 18 years old whenever you submit anything to the site.

2. What you can and can't post

Whether you're posting a leaderboard entry, spilling a story in the quiz notes, or submitting a full story via /submit, the same rules apply. You may not submit content that:

identifies another person by full name, address, workplace, phone number, socials, or any information that could reasonably be used to identify them;
is defamatory, false, threatening, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory;
describes minors in any romantic, sexual, or dating context;
contains explicit sexual content, non-consensual acts, or graphic violence;
infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
you did not personally experience or witness.

Use first names or nicknames only. Change identifying details. If you wouldn't say it to their face in a bar, don't post it here.

3. Your licence to us

When you submit content to Ickmeter (a leaderboard rating, a story note, a full submission, an Instagram handle, etc.) you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, edit, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display, and distribute that content on ickmeter.com and on our social channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and any successor platforms), and in advertising and promotional material for Ickmeter, in any media now known or later developed.

You confirm that you own or otherwise have all rights needed to grant that licence, and that our use of the content will not infringe anyone else's rights.

4. The $50 payout

If we choose to feature your story in a short-form video on an @ickmeter channel, we will pay you US$50 (or local equivalent) via PayPal to the email address you provided. Payout is at our sole discretion; submitting a story does not entitle you to payment. We only pay out once per unique story. You are responsible for any taxes.

5. Tags and attribution

If you provide a social handle and ticked "tag me", we may (but are not required to) tag or credit you when we post. If you don't want to be tagged, leave the handle blank or untick that box.

6. Removal and moderation

We can remove, edit, or refuse to publish any submission for any reason, including if it breaches these Terms. If you want your content removed, email tea@ickmeter.com and we'll action reasonable requests within 30 days. Content already used in a published video will be treated on a best-effort basis.

7. Quiz results are for entertainment

The Ick Score and tiers ("cataclysm", "green flag", "delulu", etc.) are jokes. They are not psychological, dating, or medical advice. Don't dump anyone because a website said so.

8. Voting

🔥 / 🧢 votes are attributed to an anonymous per-browser token stored in your browser. Attempts to vote-brigade, script, or otherwise manipulate the leaderboard will result in votes being removed and/or access being blocked.

9. Intellectual property

All Ickmeter branding, artwork, quiz questions, and site copy is © Ickmeter unless otherwise noted. You may share links and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided "as is". We make no warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ickmeter is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
